Protein Scientist

Heather Deagle is recruiting for several Protein Scientists to join a biotechnology company in the Grangemouth area on both a temporary and permanent basis.

This role will be based within the Development group, in which the successful applicant will be responsible for developing processes for the conjugation, purification and formulation of antibody conjugates, performing process robustness, characterisation and optimisation studies, analytical data interpretation and process scale up leading to transfer into the GMP facility.

Key Requirements:
– Good practical lab experience using protein purification techniques including
– Chromatography
– Filtration
– Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF)

Qualification/skills:
– BSc degree in Biological/Biochemical Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or related discipline

– A sound knowledge of protein analytical techniques including
– HPLC based techniques
– UV/VIS
– Good communication skills and Interpersonal skills
– Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Highly Desirable criteria:
Previous experience in the biotechnology industry, in a process development or process scale up / manufacturing setting is desirable, as is a sound knowledge of protein modification or conjugation chemistry and experience working with antibody drug conjugates.
