Property Cost Estimate – Assurance Lead

6 months temporary position

As Property Cost Estimate – Assurance Lead, you will work closely with the Head of Cost, Risk & Investment Planning of a major new rail project, supporting the Head of Land & Property in the development of property estimates.

Key accountabilities will include:
*Leading the Estimate Improvement process for Land & Property
*Providing advice on the development and improvement of cost and risk estimating activities, including assumptions and exclusions
*Develop and maintain the PCE Improvement Plan
*Benchmarking and statistical analysis to initiate estimate improvements
*Represent Cost, Risk & Investment Planning on PCE matters with external stakeholders
*Attend Estimate Steering Group and Cost & Risk Group
*Report progress summary against Plan for meetings

Required:
*MRICS desirable
*Thorough understanding of the cost drivers that define a project and the ability to convert engineering data into meaningful cost drivers
*A proven track record of working on high value infrastructure projects of >50 million
*Comprehensive understanding of the construction industry in particular infrastructure, transport and the utilities sectors
*Demonstrable evidence of cost reporting and monitoring
*Quantity Surveying skills
*Evidence of succeeding in a fast paced, project environment
