Project Manager – Retail

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading providers of quality public transport as a Project Manager – Retail, based at their offices in Croydon, Surrey on a 12 months Fixed-Term contract. They are a very successful public transport franchise operator, providing services for commuters, airport users, business and leisure travellers in south London, between central London and the South coast, through East and West Sussex, Surrey and parts of Kent and Hampshire.

Job Title – Project Manager – Retail
Location – Croydon, Surrey
Salary – £48,000 – £54,000dependent upon experience

As the Project Manager – Retail your role will be to coordinate and deliver retail projects across the franchises.

Principle accountabilities:
* Delivery of the project to predetermined time, cost and quality parameters agreed in advance with Project Sponsors.
* Monitoring and management of project planning including executive reporting of delays and management of risk and issue registers with senior sponsors through a variety of project boards.
* Provision of regular reporting on status of projects to the Project Management Office (PMO).
* Manage Consultants, Contractors and third party suppliers during project delivery.
* Reporting of actual’s v budgets for project costs and business benefits on a periodic basis.

Essential knowledge and experience:
* Computer literate with working knowledge of a variety of project management packages.
* Monitoring and management of project planning activities.
* Reporting of actual’s v budgets for project costs and business benefits on a periodic basis.
* Ability to understand, analyse and minimise project risks.
* Large scale project management experience.
* Knowledge of retail projects on Rail (Gates / TVMs / Oyster / ITSO).
* Line management of a small team.
* Ability to explain complex issues in a simplified way.
* Ability to communicate orally with a wide range of people.
* Ability to present information at meetings both internal and external.
* Flexible approach to working hours according to the needs of the business and locations.

Candidates must hold a degree or equivalent level qualification, and hold the Prince2 Foundation qualification. Candidates must also have proven experience as a Project Manager and ideally working in the UK public transport sector. You must have ability to write project status reports and project documentation, be able to multi-task and work to deadlines.
