Project Engineer/Manager

Reporting To: Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

To create and make recommendations to the Engineering Manager on which projects should be implemented and how these should be prioritised.

To manage project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet targets and changing needs of the business.

To ensure that consistency in evaluation and reporting of projects is maintained with full project accounting.

To clearly identify resources needed within each project whether they are internal or external to the business and to ensure that these are carefully selected, readily available and assigned effectively.

To support, improve, simplify and reduce the cost of current manufacturing processes through manufacturing engineering initiatives and continuous improvement principles.

To manage designs, tooling and machinery drawings/designs and ensure these are properly completed to the appropriate standard.

To identify and manage exposure and risk within all projects.

To ensure all projects meet quality and health and safety standards.

To ensure that all projects are fully documented and signed off formally to appropriate for the department or client or supplier with their full acceptance.

To complete a full completion review of all projects by analysing project profitability through return on investment, improved margin or revenue.

To provide full support to the manufacturing engineering function as and when required which may include general engineering support.

To provide full support to the Engineering Manager to ensure that the Development group delivers a contribution level to the business that at least covers the department operating overheads each year.

Previous Experience:

Recognised Engineering Qualification

Project management experience

Project Justification, Return on Investment/Project Payback etc

Chairing Project meetings

Organising personnel

Working with customers and suppliers both in UK & overseas
