Skills required:

• Bridge & structure experience in conjunction with the below spec. PTS IS NOT REQUIRED
• Experience required as either Project Engineer Civils or CRE Civils.
• Rail experience
• Renewals
• Experience required for medium/large scale Civils work to bridges (new and replacements including listed structures), retaining walls, structures, stations and lineside Civils as part of major electrification and route upgrade programme
• Aware of multi-discipline
• Hazard management experience
• No DPE experience is required

As a Civils Project Engineer, you will provide subject area support to multi-discipline projects ranging from significant station modifications, upgrades to routes for capacity, line speed and new rolling stock. The role will include aspects such as geotechnical, drainage, stations and structures, you will be involved in all project stages including design development, option selection, review of designs, safe construction and monitoring of compliance with quality, standards and legislation

2x Project Engineer Civils to work on Trans Pennine Route Upgrade East. Experience required for medium/large scale Civils work to bridges (new and replacements including listed structures), retaining walls, structures, stations and lineside Civils as part of major electrification and route upgrade programme.

The Project Engineer will manage design and construction activities for allocated projects. They will implement Network RAIL systems and procedures to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects, compliant with all relevant legislation, and liaise with regulators and others as appropriate. The candidate will engineer Projects to the standards and specification of Network RAIL, allocated design and construction contracts include reference to and are compliant with appropriate RAILway Group and Network RAIL Company standards, formal specifications and procedures. and manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality. They will maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects and manage the environmental aspects of allocated projects in accordance with Network Rail’s environmental policy. They will monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors and provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision. The candidate will undertake reviews of design and/or construction activities. Arrange audits of contractors monitoring safety, environment and quality of design, construction, testing and commissioning and management systems is adequate, while carrying out the duties of designated project engineer (DPE) for specific projects.
