THE ROLE
Greenacre has been selected to work with a Housing association based in the West Midlands to recruit a Project Engineer. The successful Project Engineer will work alongside the construction team and assist with the delivery of various developments dealing with all technical/ engineering issues that arise. This is a great opportunity to join busy team with a healthy development pipeline. As one of the biggest social housing developers in the Midlands they are looking to grow their successful team.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* The project engineer will lead on the procurement of Statutory undertakers works to allow demolition/construction work to commence.
* The successful candidate will work alongside the commercial team to assist with tender packs to enable works such as demolition, piling and other ground improvement. They will also lead on appointing road/sewer and groundworks contractors including pre-start meetings.
* The Project engineer will act as the main point of contact for a variety of authorities and all technical approvals (S104, S185, S38, S278, road closures, stopping up notices etc.)
* The role requires liaising with internal and external consultants to carry out due diligence and other investigative works to ensure that any land purchases have full regards to all technical engineering constraints.
REQUIREMENTS
* You will also need to be qualified to HNC level or higher in Civil Engineering Studies or similar as well as good analytical and communication skills. You’ll also be able to work on your own as well as with a wider Project Team.
* As a technical specialist you must have proven in depth knowledge as well as experience of new build residential developments. It is an essential requirement that you have experience with the necessary to secure planning consent and any subsequent reports to facilitate a start on site.
