An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client on the Saudi Mid Life Update (MLU) Project which will refit and modify the 3 Sandown Class Mine hunters operated by the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF).
Under the direction of the Project Control Manager (PCM) the Project Controller will provide a Project Control System (PCS) that is fit for purpose for the Saudi MLU Project which is refitting and modifying 3 Sandown Class Minehunters operated by the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF).
This will require an understanding of the demands of Project Control in an engineering production environment, balanced with the need for Project Control governance. T
his position is based out of Portsmouth but will involve alot of travel in Saudi Arabia and accommodation is included As Project Controller your main responsibilities will involve:
Providing project control governance support to the UK and to the in-country project team as required.
Analysis and verification of the status of ship progress vs. project control data Support the Project Control Manager in developing Project Metrics and Analysis as dictated by the Project on a Weekly and Monthly basis.
Regular travel to KSA will be required in this role.
As Project Controller your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of project control activities and aligned engineering production processes, methods, analysis toolsets and safe practices as required in an engineering production, upgrade, repair or refit environment.
PC literate and competent with Microsoft Excel and Project and be able to use an ERP system (SAP or IFS) without supervision to undertake the required planning activities.
Qualified to an appropriate level in a professional Project Management Qualification (APM or PMI) Logical, analytical and structured approach to problem solving Self-management and motivation and the ability to motivate and support others to identify and deliver tasks within acceptable time frames with minimal guidance and supervision
Able to support other team members and monitor own and team progress against planned delivery and quality targets and to contribute to continuous improvement of the planning function.
IOSH or NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate with working knowledge of general H&S/Environmental regulations and safe working practices.
We would provide training and qualification support for unqualified candidates with the relevant experience. Ideally hold a related technical qualification at ONC/HNC level or have served an engineering apprenticeship Regular travel to KSA will be required in role.
