Production Planner & Team Leader
A precision engineering company based in Horsham West Sussex are recruiting a permanent Production Planner and Team Leader.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be required to effectively plan and allocate workstreams to the factory floor. Operating to very tight deadlines within this fast-paced CNC manufacturing environment, the successful Production Planner & Team Leader will have a proven background in performing and delivering results under pressure. This is a progressive role, and the successful candidate will be supported with career progression.
JOB DETAILS:
Type: Permanent
Hours: 8am-4.30pm core hours, Days, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: Negotiable
Location: West Sussex
JOB OVERVIEW
The successful Production Planner & Team Leader will be responsible for day to day management of factory resources (people, plant, and processes).
The Production Planner & Team Leader will utilise the company MRP business system to plan and execute all production processes and oversee factory processes from raw material delivery to product despatch.
They will lead production progress meetings in the absence of the Manufacturing Manager and support raw material procurement and sub-contract process requirements. Must be comfortable with using data and working with MS Excel at an intermediate/advanced level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Process Management: Planning
* Attend monthly sales forecast meeting and highlight orders at risk or opportunities to pull forward.
* Attend weekly high-level production planning meeting with the Management Team.
* Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to review and understand business capacity.
* Raise WOs for all factory processes and train employees to book/add WOs into stock locations.
* Raise POs and expedite raw material and sub-contract processes.
* Issue production staff with a daily work to list (WO planning).
* Date change management (promise/planned dates).
* Ensure factory overtime is planned and approved.
People and Process Management: Factory Team Leader
* Hold any facilitate daily/weekly production progress/planning meetings.
* Oversee the booking of WOs into stock locations.
* Oversee shop floor daily and weekly 5S and TPM factory objectives.
* Support continuous improvement projects.
* Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to plan machine maintenance.
* Attend health and safety meetings.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Exceptional communication, planning and organizational skills
* Engineering qualification and background
* MRP/ERP experience
* Analytical thinking skills
* ISO9001 experience
* Over 5 years’ experience in managing people
* Qualification in Team Leadership
* Intermediate/Advanced MS office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project/Visio)
* Change management experience/process
