Our hand-crafted doughnuts are made fresh daily by a team of doughnut designers who work around the clock to create the freshest, tastiest, biggest and boujiest doughnuts in the world!

The Role

Doughnut Time have an exciting new opportunity to join our growing team as our Production Manager in our Head Office in Reading. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the busy Dispatch team and ensuring that every doughnut is picked, packed and our orders are fulfilled to the highest standard.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, whilst having the ability to motivate and maintain the standards of work within the team.

Responsibilities 

Your responsibilities will be to ensure that our busy Dispatch operation is working efficiently whilst continuing to maintain the high standards expected by our loyal customers. Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • You will manage and work as part of the busy production line packing and fulfilling our orders for our online orders that are shipped to customers overnight!
  • The role requires excellent attention to detail to ensure the team are packing the correct items so that the customer receives the perfect pack of doughnuts.
  • Ensuring that you and the team adhere to all time scales and deadline when processing orders and maintain a packing rate of an average of 20 per hour.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that stock levels for all areas remain on par at the end of every shift so that you are prepared for the following day.
  • You will be responsible for checking products for quality issues, and reporting products that do not meet the required standard.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety instructions, policies and procedures including wearing the correct PPE
  • You will ensure that you and the team are maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment and workstations in good working order. We want to ensure the entire area is fit for use and therefore you must be able to communicate issues and potential resolutions.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that the team are always adhering to all food hygiene standards.
  • You must have a flexible approach to work to support other areas of the business during busy periods if required. Our dispatch operation can get very busy during seasonal periods and therefore it may require additional hours over these periods so that all our customers get their orders on time!

Overall, this role is perfect for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, whilst motivating others within the team to achieve order deadlines to the highest of standards.

About You 

To be successful in the role, we feel that these are some of the essential qualities to ensure you achieve within the role:

  • You will have a pro-active approach to work and a can-do attitude.
  • You will have the ability to motivate a team to meet order deadlines, whilst maintaining high standards

Experience 

  • You will have a minimum of 1 years’ experience of people management, including managing rotas, sickness etc.
  • previous experience of working within a dispatch function, preferably within the food industry but this is not essential.
  • Experience within a fast-paced work environment
