THE COMPANY:

We’re exclusively recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable multi-million-pound FMCG business located in Preston that is looking to significantly expand their operation.

They’re seeking a Production Manager to join the team for a period of 6 months whilst they upgrade systems to create business efficiency’s in preparation for their next growth. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to bring their expertise and gain exposure within this truly forward thinking and inspirational business.

Whilst this is a contract position, you’ll gain great experience within a business that has it’s sight set on becoming the UK’s largest within their industry.

THE PRODUCTION MANAGER ROLE:

• Working closely with the current Production Manager, you’ll be taking responsibility for the Production operations for a period of 6 months to assist with the business transition.
• Take responsibility for all manufacturing and packing activity on site.
• Co-ordinate all cleaning activities on site.
• Work to achieve / exceed the proposed schedules in manufacturing and packing, so meeting customer demand and minimising out of stocks.
• Prepare weekly and monthly production figures in Excel
• Accurately create and update relevant SOP’s as necessary and in a timely manner
• Work closely with site engineers to improve productivity
• Attend regular tier meetings as required
• Ensure standards and SOP’s are adhered to at all times by all staff.
• Co-ordinate with QA to resolve issues and make full and effective use of the non-conformances, change controls, internal audits and systems to help achieve this.
• Co-ordinate effectively and regularly with your teams and other managers / key staff members.
• Coach and provide feedback to all team members to help develop the skills and knowledge base.
• Reduce down times to maximise efficiency’s
• Work with team to ensure production targets are met

THE PERSON:

• Must have experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing business
• Good people leadership skills with the ability to ensure that good manufacturing procedures are adhered to and key deadlines are achieved.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing scheduling and optimisation
• Good computer skills especially advanced MS Excel
• Whilst it’s not essential, Six Sigma and/or Prince 2 Qualifications would be an advantage
• Must be available for immediate interview and be able to fully commit to a 6-month contract
