Product Technologist

The Role

This is a fabulous opportunity for a Product Technologist who can help drive our future success. You will provide technical support to the business, suppliers and customers on all matters relating to the safety, legality and quality of the products purchased and sold. You will have responsibility for ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping of technical information. Therefore, you’ll need a good eye for detail.

What you’ll be doing

In the role of Product Technologist, you’ll be providing timely provision of technical information both internally and externally. You’ll challenge and investigate the implementation of quality management systems to drive continuous improvement within the business and facilitate relevant trials to drive product enhancements whilst ensuring everything complies with food safety quality standards. You will support and assist the Head of Technical in managing any quality and technical issues. You’ll be required to travel to factories to complete factory audits. You’ll also travel to the supply base in Europe, UK and worldwide on Technical matters so being flexible would be an advantage.

What you’ll need

You will need a Food Technology qualification, alongside the ability to demonstrate experience within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge and understanding of the retailer codes of practice along with training in internal audit and HACCP is required. Strong computer literacy skills are essential.

You must have strong communication and influencing skills and be comfortable in dealing with a wide range of people at all levels through strong written and verbal communication skills.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a team. You’ll have strong organisational skills and have the ability to multi task and prioritise workload and always focusing on delivering results against tight deadlines
