Job Description

Product Manager / Sales & Marketing Manager required to join a global manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation.

The Product Manager / Sales & Marketing Manager will join an existing product management team, where you’ll be responsible for the lifecycle of products from market intelligence, working with R&D to specify new products, through to launch.

This position would suit someone with proven experience as a Product Manager, or a technical sales or sales & marketing background looking to move into product management.

A background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing, or a technical product range is essential. Knowledge of sensor, measurement equipment, instrumentation, pressure, level or flow related measurement products would be a benefit.

This is a Hybrid position, 2 days office based near Northampton

Package
Salary: £50,000 plus bonus

Role
Technical product promotion and sales support
Product management of designated product range
Support new product developments in close co-operation with R&D, production engineering and production
Frequent international visits to customers within the US, Canada, CIS, Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Could be anywhere between 20% – 30%+ of the time depending on product launches
Assist with preparation of documentation and planning of product launches
Monitor and analyse market and competitor information
Commercial negotiation with customers
Produce technical and marketing documentation
Handle day to day technical and commercial queries
Assist with maintenance of price lists, etc
Achieve targets for the designated product range and develop the business by liaising with customers, training internal staff and providing product support
This position sits between sales, R&D, production and customers
Responsible for the lifecycle of products from market intelligence, working with R&D to specify new products, through to launch

Requirements
Proven experience as a Product Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager or a technical sales or marketing background with some exposure to product management
Willingness to travel internationally to visit customers
Engineering qualification beneficial
