Product Development Manager

Salary: £48,000 per year

Direct Response Employment Services are delighted to be supporting our local client in Westbury who are keen on recruiting a product development manager to join the team on a permanent basis. 

 Working closely with the engineer team you will be designing new product ranges and upgrading on existing product ranges. 

Key Duties:

• Developing new products in conjunction with the sales team whilst working closely with the engineering team. 
• Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions, collaborating with the sales and marketing department on product feasibility. 
• Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs. 
• creating design projects and specification sheets.
• Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders. 
• Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes. and testing prototype products for functionality, ease of use and longevity. 
• resolving product issues and overseeing the product process. 
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure that new products are successfully introduced into production. 

Experience Required: 

• Previous experience of product design and development. 
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes. 
• Engineering qualification. 
• IT Literate with some experience of CAD.

We are looking for an excellent candidate who has previous background with managing product design and development ideally within a manufacturing setting. 

You will have exceptional mathematical skills, a talent for design and have experience with team management along with the ability to use your technical design skills to create functional and attractive products that are cost effective and user friendly.
