Procurement Officer

Project Overview
Position: Procurement Officer / Location: Cumbria / Length: 6 months + / Hours: 37 per week / Rate: up to £30 – £42 per hour

Objective
To provide a professional procurement service for alll external project related activities for the LLWR in line with all relevant procedures including: * Preparation of Sourcing Strategies, Expressions of Interest, Invitations to tender, tender evaluation procedures and IERs; * Conducting consensus meetings and stakeholder meetings; * Chairing and organising external evaluation presentations; * Conducting individual Commercial evaluations; * SAP experience is desirable; * Sound working knowledge of the Public Contract Regulations; * Contract Management * Deputise for the Senior Procurement Officer in their absence; * Manage existing contracts; * Assist in the preparation of contract strategy documents; * Create and maintain requests for quotations; * Create and manage new agreements and contracts using appropriate terms and conditions, eg NEC3; * Ensure appropriate competition rules are followed.

Key Skills
* Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject with a proven track record within a public sector post. * Fully conversant with public contract regulations * Experience of setting up procurement exercises from cradle to grave * SAP experience preferred

Pay Rate Details
£30 – £42 per hour
