Procurement Officer

We are currently partnering with a public sector organisation based in the West Midlands who are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join their team on an initial six month period with a strong possibility of a permanent position. This role can either be part timeat 29.6 hours per week (over 4 or 5 days) or full time (37 hours per week) and is suitable for hybrid working with office presence in Warwickshire expected twice per week. The hourly rate is c.£29.50 per hour Umbrella .

Duties will include (but are not limited to): Developing and regularly reviewing a procurement strategy and associated policies and procedures Supporting the delivery of a complex and varied procurement pipeline including the preparation of supplier events, tender documents, management of bidder clarifications, evaluation and moderation sessions Ensuring our activity achieves real impact by embedding robust governance, compliance and risk management while also looking for opportunities to innovate and add value Driving process development; incorporating the latest policy changes and legislation Supporting and providing specialist advice to colleagues across the organisation with the contract management module in Intend Assisting in the maintenance of the Contract Register Undertaking spend analysis of procurement activity on a quarterly basis and helping develop proposals for improving cost effective procurement Responsible for the corporate e-tendering and attending joint meetings Providing appropriate expertise, training and advice to officers Responding to Freedom of Information requests Assisting in the maintenance of the website pages for procurement

Experience required

Experience working under the Procurement Act 2023 and PCR 2015 is desirable

Experience in social housing is desired

Skills , knowledge and expertise required: CIPS qualified or working towards this qualification is preferable Working hours: 29.6 hours (over four or five days) or 37 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent
