Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year
Having recently concluded an extension and modernisation refurbishment of its world class manufacturing facility, our client is looking to appoint a technically qualified production engineering specialist with specific rubber processing experience.
The Position:
The appointed Process Engineer will assume responsibility for:
* Ensuring that products are produced with optimal quality, efficiency and safety and minimum environmental impact
* Developing rubber mould tooling for NPI (New Product Introduction)
* Continuous improvement in the general shop floor environment and upskilling of staff
* Ensuring that adequate consideration is paid to process safety
* Assisting the customer base with applications advice and failure analysis
* Supporting the commercial function in securing new business
* Identifying bottlenecks in production processes and suggesting/implementing improvements
The Candidate:
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:
* (Ideally) a recognised manufacturing, process, polymer or chemical engineering qualification
* A strong technical understanding of rubber processing (ideally moulding-specific although compounding expertise will also be considered)
* Previous experience of manufacturing products for aerospace applications
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Some knowledge of rubber-to-metal bonding and downstream processing requirements
* Excellent written, verbal and numerical communications skills, occasionally under pressure
* An understanding of all relevant ISO test methods
