Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking a Principal Process Engineer for a world leading engineering, construction and project management Company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Thermal Power or Energy from Waste projects. The primary purpose of the role is to assist the Energy from Waste team in achieving company objectives with respect to delivering world-class designs for both internal and external clients

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare estimates for the implementation of process services.
• Identify the client requirements and make any recommendations as necessary.
Produce and develop thermal process designs in relation to combustion, boiler, steam turbines etc.
• Contribute towards preparing Health and Safety method statements and risk assessments in respect of construction.
• Produce tender enquiry documents in respect of contracts for the provision of process services.
• Assist Quantity Surveyors in evaluating tender returns as may be required.

The ideal person:
• Educated in a Chemical or process engineering discipline with specialism in Energy from Waste and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing plants, water/ waste water treatment plants/ waste treatment, nuclear or any other process industry; together with at least ten years post-qualification experience.
• Must have good knowledge of current legislation and practices relative to thermal process engineering systems.

Ideally conversant with as many of the following:
• Gasification and combustion systems.
• Waste and biomass fuels analysis.
• Boiler water systems.
• Boilers (HRSG) and flue gas treatment systems.
• Steam cycle in relation to piping systems, steam turbines and air/water cooled condensers.
• Process mass and energy balances.
• Material selection.
• PFD and P&ID production.
• Health and safety legislation.
• HAZOP and HAZID analysis.
• Computer aided design techniques

Travel to sites can be expected. Therefore a current driving licence is essential.
