Principal Engineer

Our Client board have invested heavily into the development of Waste Heat Recovery technology setting up an Advanced Engineering group at MIRA.
This is now the most significant technology investment in the company. This team are well underway developing fluid control equipment for several leading truck manufacturers, utilising Ethanol in a liquid/steam cycle.
The Commercial Vehicle group is the largest sector in the company supplying most of the truck and off highway OEMs around the world. To date the team has attracted interest from numerous customers, filed several patents and is implementing a state of the art Rankine cycle Ethanol test cell.
Heat Recovery allows diesel engines to achieve thermal efficiency above 50% and operators to make fuel savings of 5%.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:

We are currently looking to recruit a Principal Engineer. Reporting into the Team Leader your key duties and responsibilities will be:-
Proven technical leadership, experience of managing engineers or engineering projects
Ability to act as the main technical authority on WHR solutions
Provide engineering supervision to a small team of high calibre engineers
Strong academic, theoretical and practical Engineering background
Knowledge of relevant high temperature, high pressure product development and fluid engineering.
Proven creative and conceptual design skills
Familiarity with Inventor 3D CAD and FE/CFD tools would be an asset but not essential
Work closely with stakeholders, including Executives, technical colleagues, customers, suppliers, prototyping and testing partners as well as other sites.
The ideal candidate will have sound project management skills and can demonstrate continuous improvement success through innovation and problem solving. You will be HND or graduate calibre or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline together with considerable experience.
