Principal Electrical Engineer

The client, with an outstanding reputation, are looking for a gifted Electrical Design Engineer to lead the delivery of a range of exciting schemes from their London office, and to support the future development of our business.
Their ideal candidate will have wide-ranging design consultancy experience, and will have delivered projects in a variety of sectors, from inception to completion.
The role will include the following key responsibilities:-
1. Management of engineering designs in accordance with the client’s brief and project requirements;
2. Review of designs produced by less experienced staff, and the provision of feedback;
3. Contributing to the day-to-day management and control of projects, including commercial and financial management, project management and QA;
4. Provision of training and coaching to more junior team members;
5. Participation in marketing and business development events;
6. Assisting with the preparation of bids and submissions;
7. Involvement in wider business initiatives as appropriate (for instance, improvement of technical standards, training, recruitment, marketing etc).
Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential
1. Degree qualified (or equivalent combination of education and practical experience) in a relevant subject.
2. Proven experience in an engineering consultancy.
3. Demonstrable technical understanding.
4. Experience of delivering projects across a number of sectors (ideally including Workplace and/or Critical Systems)
5. Experience of designing in accordance with current British Standards and industry good practice.
6. Proven ability to interact effectively with clients and other members of the design team.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Proven ability to plan and programme work.
9. IT literacy (MS Office and relevant technical software).
