My Client Junior School in Croydon will be looking for up to four teaching assistants for the rest of the Academic Year. I currently have several teaching assistants that started this Academic Year. All are looking to pursue a teaching career and have been successful in gaining a PGCE or Schools Direct place for September 14′. The Special Needs Coordinator wants strong graduates with some experience of working with young people.

The school is excellent. Teaching is very good and the pupils achieve over the national and LEA averages in the Year 6 SATs. The pupils’ personal development and well-being are outstanding. The behaviour is excellent.

The SENCO looks for intelligent, empathetic graduates with endearing personalities. For part of the day those pupils who find literacy and numeracy challenging are given targeted and individualised group support from chosen teaching assistants – ( Intervention groups ). This has worked well over the years and she wants this repeated again next year.

A major plus point of this school are its extra- curricular activities/clubs. The Art and Music Clubs are outstanding as reflected in the display work and also the choirs/bands. Also, the school have successful football and netball teams. The SENCO really likes those TAs that can get involved in the school life. She wants you to be proactive and independent.

She will be looking to interview people in the first week of June. I will be recruiting as soon as possible.
