Prospero Teaching are looking for a resilient and experienced Primary School Teacher to work in one of our fantastic PRU Settings in South Shields on a full-time and long-term basis to start after February half-term until the end of the Academic Year in July. For the right Teacher, there is a strong possibility of the role becoming Permanent.
The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to full classes with the support of Teaching Assistants within lessons. A key part of the role will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.
Pupils within the PRU have been excluded from mainstream school and can display challenging behaviour. Another key part of the role, therefore, will be to positively engage with the pupils and colleagues to build positive relationships to help you to manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.

This role will involve:
- Planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons to KS2 classes that inspires pupils and allows all pupils to make progress.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
- Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
- Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
- QTS and Primary Teaching experience.
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
- Experience of Teaching within the UK
- A genuine passion for Teaching
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- A commitment to CPD
