Salary: £38,400 – £48,000 per year
An electrical PLC control engineer is needed to work in a modern automated factory as part of the engineering team. Previous experience is required with Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs. Front line support is needed with any control system related issues. You will also be responsible for online coding and modifications with Siemens PLCs,
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for repairing all electrical faults to achieve the production plan and ensure the continued satisfaction of customers with respect to quality and delivery performance.
* Responding to routine breakdown and repair issues around site to ensure continuous production.
* Preventive maintenance around the site to ensure the smooth running of all manufacturing areas.
* Responsible for keeping downtime in the work area to a minimum.
* Fault finding and interrogating PLCs
* Install and plan new equipment on site with your team
* Implementing and creating procedures
* Carrying out regular diagnostics
* Completing modifications and development of siemens PLCs/online Coding/Procedures
* Working with pallet conveyors, bagging lines and drum driers
* Testing and maintaining and existing systems that are currently in use
* Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports for the maintenance team.
* Overseeing the offloading of chemicals when required.
* Carrying out routine safety checks.
* Assisting other engineering staff with installation work and projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
* Experience with 5s – Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
* Identify resource requirements to prepare for/carry out activities.
* Develop appropriate solutions for operational problems.
Required Skills
* Electrician with recognised qualifications (apprenticeship, HND, C&G)
* Must have worked to 3-Phase electrics and have some good mechanical knowledge
* Experience with control systems and PLC’s together with exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
* Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer along with Mechanical fault finding and repair experience
* Background from Industrial/process/manufacturing environments
* Good understand of safety and environmental regulations
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Self-motivated, resourceful, and pro-active
* Fork Lift Truck Licence or willing to train
Desirable Skills:
* PLC Automated Machinery Experience (Siemens & Mitsubishi)
