Job Summary: Candidate educated to PhD in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Physics, Materials Science required for a PhD R&D Scientist / Engineer job in Northamptonshire
Our client has an established a growing reputation in the supply of optical components across the globe to the optical communications sector.
They currently require a talented PhD level candidate with practical knowledge of chip design, optoelectronics, modern optics and semiconductor technology to fill a PhD R&D Scientist / Engineer job at their facility in Northamptonshire.
Job Responsibilities:
The job will see the successful applicant work within the R&D team, contributing to new product development of photonics technology and systems for use within the telecommunications industry.
Successful candidates will be involved in the performance investigation and product development stage and will liaise with the manufacturing team. You will develop skills learnt academically in optical and electronic design, solid state physics and optical communication systems design to develop test platforms and prototype-related automation.
Job Requirements:
Educated to PhD in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Physics, Materials Science with knowledge of:
Optoelectronics
Modern optics
Semiconductor technology
Chip design
Solid state physics
Any applicants for this job with previous academic or commercial experience of using semiconductor lasers, SOA or PIC will be at an advantage.
