Permanent Pipe Fitter/Fabricator

Our client has an opportunity for a Pipe Fitter/Fabricator to support both the maintenance and production activities within their Steels Company. The Pipe Fitter/Fabrication team will cover welding and pipefitting services to production shifts, as well as providing project based fabrication work.

The vacancy is likely to require shift work as appropriate.

Day to Day duties of the Pipe Fitter/Fabricator will include:-

* Stick Welding
* Pipe Welding, repair and installation
* General Fabrication
* Some Fault Finding
* Working within H&S guidelines and the permit to work system

* Any other duties commensurate with this role

The Person:

In order for candidates to be considered for the role of Pipe Fitter/Fabricator, it is essential you have the following:

* Apprentice trained & time served coded welder experience
* Ability to ensure that you and others are fully compliant with Health & Safety/Environmental legislation and Company
* Health & Safety policies/procedures, familiarity
* Significant experience working within the engineering sector is essential
* HNC / NVQ level III qualification or equivalent is desirable
* Ability/flexibility to work as part of a small team and unsupervised out of hours is essential
* Pipe fitting experience would be a distinct advantage. However, full training in this area will be provided
* Willing to participate in heavy physical work
* Possessing crane/FLT/other lifting machine licenses would be highly advantageous (if no licenses held then you must be willing to be trained in these skills)
* Willing/able to demonstrate competence of working at height
* Willing to assist with any other roles/jobs in the department
* Self-driven and reliable with proven communication and interpersonal skills

Hourly Rate: £13.52+ overtime where available.
Working hours: 40 hours per week (3 shift system, hours to be confirmed, including nights)
