Our Creative Chefs draw inspiration from what’s trending, celeb gossip and the latest buzz-worthy confectionary, to create an ever-changing menu! Our hand-crafted doughnuts are made fresh daily by a team of doughnut designers who work around the clock to create the freshest, tastiest, biggest and boujiest doughnuts in the world!
The Role
We are looking for a People and Culture Manager to join our team in our HQ in Reading. This role will make sure that Doughnut Time continues to be a great place to work for all our staff. Driving engagement, wellbeing, events and social activities are at the heart of the role and ensuring job satisfaction across the company!
Responsibilities
We want you to ensure that everyone continues to be excited about coming to work whilst feeling supported and valued in their role. Therefore, the overall objective for the role is to ensure all our staff are happy and feel rewarded for all of their efforts! Key responsibilities of the role are:
- The point of call when it comes to everything engagement, staff rewards and general support in the business.
- Managing the health and wellbeing activities and support offering for employees!
- Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures in line with employment law updates and business needs.
- Undertaking HR project work to align with the overall business strategy. For example – employee engagement surveys and staff benefits package and rewards
- Responsible for creating a social events planner and organising regular team events this can include monthly socials, Christmas parties and other team building events and incentives.
- You will be for leading engagement across Doughnut Time for all staff and ensuring that you drive great job satisfaction and happiness across the company.
- Making sure the office and CPU are great working places and all staff feel happy and engaged.
- Take responsibility for Health and Safety within the office and CPU.
- Supporting managers in all aspects of employee relations including investigations, disciplinary and grievance, performance management and employee engagement.
Overall, this role is perfect for someone who is people-centric and loves getting stuck in! You’ll love organising staff socials and rewards to ensure our staff remain happy and engaged! The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator that can share important information and changes from the business with staff.
About You

- Up to date knowledge of employment law and the implications to the business.
- Experience of delivering advice on legislation, compliance and best practice.
- You will be a people person and will be the go-to person for all members of the team.
- Have the ability to work confidently on your own but also enjoy being part of a team!
- You will need to be highly organised.
- You are an effective problem solver and are able to think on your feet.
Experience
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist role
- Preferably worked within a scaling business previously
- CIPD qualified.
