Payroll / Pay Services & Pensions Manager

Up £47k pro rata/£250 per day. Temp to Perm.

My NHS client requires an interim to join their team and line manage the team of 20 staff with the day to day running of pay and pensions. This role is to report to the Director and could become a permanent position very soon. It is desirable that you have worked in the NHS and have experience of ERS. This role is very much a ‘doing’ role and leading rather than directing. The role requires:

• Extensive relevant payroll management & operational planning experience.
• Experience of working in a multi-site, high volume pay processing environment, using an integrated HR/Payroll computerised system.
• Experience of leading, managing and implementing payroll related projects
• Experience of implementing changed working practices in a payroll environment, whilst maintaining control of the pay service.
• Demonstrably good IT skills including Advanced Excel skills
• Implementation and management of Salary Sacrifice Schemes
• Strong customer focus, encouraging a proactive approach to customer care, leading by example.
• Knowledge of Statutory legislation in respect of HMRC requirements
• Knowledge of compliance in respect of the Pensions Regulator requirements
