Payroll Assistant

Salary: £26,400 – £31,200 per year

THE COMPANY

A local Construction business based in Walsall require an experienced Payroll Assistant for a permanent contract.

THE ROLE

The role of the Payroll Assistant is to support the group in processing weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring the Company remains compliant with its legal obligations with HMRC. The job will involve processing new starters and leavers, working as part of the group payroll team in the support and maintenance of the HR computer systems; Working as part of the payroll team in running the weekly and monthly payrolls and calculating all overtime, absences and annual leave ensuring accurate information is received and authorised by departmental managers and Contracts Directors. You will be involved in all aspects of the payroll system including the importing and exporting of data, inputting mileage and expense claim forms and to assist in the gross to net payroll operation for all employees including mileage and expense claims and people receiving a pension. PAYE/ National Insurance/ C I S, N E S T pensions and processing payroll in line with bank receipts and worker contracts. You will calculate holidays, sickness and bonus payments and assist to run a monthly payroll.

REQUIREMENTS

An ability to process a payroll from start to finish and a proven administrative experience. The ability to organise workload effectively for the purpose of meeting deadlines and to demonstrate flexibility /versatility combined with initiative, drive, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a wide variety of contacts and the ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs.
