Part Time Support Worker
Job Description
Location: Perranporth
Contract Type: Part time, Permanent
To provide a flexible support service to an adult male with an acquired brain injury.
You will support the client to live, socialise and participate both within his home and in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.
You will give encouragement, guidance and support so that he can live independently as possible and have the freedom to make his own choices.
On a daily basis you may be involved in supporting him with the following activities:-
• Attending Doctor’s appointments.
• Attending Hospital appointments.
• Supporting with shopping.
• Supporting with Socialising (for example chaperoning to a football game).
Applicants must have previous experience working in a care environment and have a NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Health & Social Care. Previous experience working with people that have an acquired brain injury desirable but not essential.
You must have a full driving licence, with access to your own vehicle and business use car insurance. You may also be required to drive the clients vehicle.
The successful applicant must be available to work across a range of hours which could include mornings, evenings and overnight as has contact with his son one weekend per fortnight.
Hours of work
• 20 hours per week
Rate of pay
• Weekday £17.00 per hour
• Weekend £18.00 per hour
• Bank Holiday £18.00 per hour
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
