Paint & Decorating Lecturer/Tutor

I am currently working with a men’s adult prison in Redditch who are currently open to hire a Paint & Decorating Lecturer/Tutor to join their education team. The successful candidate will be delivering up to and including Level 2 within construction P&D. The role will be a full time and permanent contract – paying £30,000 – £36,000 – £30,00 (this is subject to evaluation depending on qualifications).

– Delivering Paint and Decorating courses at level 1 and level 2

– Starting as soon as possible

In order to be considered for this position, you must possess the following:

– Minimum Level 2 qualification in Paint & Decorating trade (NVQ, craft certificate etc)

– Desire and ability to pass on your skills and experiences on to others

– Industry experience of at least 2 years

– Classroom delivery experience (Desirable)

The education provider is able to provide training/qualifications to anyone who has not yet got a teaching/assessor qualification however this will reflect on the salary offered until acquired.

What is absolutely crucial is your experience in the industry and the ability to pass this onto others in a credible and engaging way. Quite often it’s the anecdotes and industry based stories which make learning more interesting, memorable and fun for both the learner and trainer.

As this is based in category HM prison service, this role will need a certain level of patience and passion in yourself and specialism to help those in need of a second chance. This will give them another opportunity in life and provide them with the skills needed to make a career for themselves.
