Outdoors and Adventure Tutor: The essentials.
– Qualified instructor with at least a years experience coaching or teaching outdoor pursuits
– Knowledge of current industry standards
– Be committed to delivering family interventions where necessary
– Drive to provide positive outcomes to children, young people and vulnerable adults
– Full UK driving licence and use of own car

Outdoors and Adventure Tutor: Your experience.
– Experience of working with children and young people or vulnerable adults within an education, health or social care setting
– Experience of developing effective resources for young people with additional needs

Outdoors and Adventure Tutor: The desirables.
– Assessor qualification (A1, D32, TAQA)
– Knowledge of relevant policies (The Children’s Act 2004, Families Act 2014 etc.)

Outdoors and Adventure Tutor: The organisation.
– An organisation specialising in offering bespoke full-time school placements for young people who have complex additional learning and social needs. Providing a service assisting young people who are particularly difficult to place in mainstream education settings.

Outdoors and Adventure Tutor: The role.
– To support and engage learners through preparation and delivery of an innovative curriculum around the Worksop & Mansfield area in various different adventure locations
– Supporting learners & delivering the Level 1 BTEC in Sport & Active Leisure course
– Supporting learners on various activities such as climbing, abseiling, mountain biking, kayaking etc.
– Using a holistic approach to deliver a curriculum which includes attention to health and safety awareness, risk management and the safeguarding of young people
– Supporting the Provision Manager in the completion of assessments, pupil tracking documents, progress reports & giving feedback reports to relevant commissioning bodies
– Responsible for all aspects of learner health & safety
– £16000 – £27500 dependant on skills & experience
– A DBS (formerly CRB) check prior to commencement of role is required.
