Operations Operative

Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Insulation Machining Services (IMS), part of SIG, are currently looking to recruit an Operations Operative for our site in Leeds, who will be able to manufacture pre-cast shapes to a consistent, high quality standard, in a safe and timely manner.

What does the role involve?
As an Operations Operative you will be required to check tooling, operate machinery and follow standard ways of working. In addition, you will be required to:

record daily production output
ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained
work to agreed Health & Safety Regulations and standards
report all machinery defects promptly
report any unsafe working practices
work in the main warehouse to support the team during times of peak warehousing workloadThe successful candidate will require:

A good awareness of health and safety, safe working practices and a strong work ethic
A flexible approach to working hours, as some occasional overtime working may be required
Willingness to be part of a team, working both in the warehouse and as part of the production team
Physical fitness, as some manual warehouse work will be required
Previous experience in pre-casting concrete is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided
A basic understanding of simple technical drawings and the ability to check moulds against drawings
Self-motivation and self-discipline – able to work to deadlines efficiently without constant supervision
Experience of working in a modern factory environment
FLT licence ideal, but not essential (training can be given)About us…
