About the role
The Libraries Operations Officer is pivotal to the smooth running of daily operations in our libraries, while contributing to the strategic development of the service. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our Library Service. Your role plays a crucial part in keeping our libraries running smoothly. If you enjoy keeping things organised, this could be the perfect role for you!
Duties include organising and attending various meetings and forums both internally and externally with partners. Ensure minutes of actions are recorded accurately and shared as necessary (e.g. Friends of Library groups, strategic partnerships, and staff forum).
Additionally, responsibilities involve preparing timesheets to manage the organisation and deployment of staff across the library service. The role also encompasses HR administration, including recruitment processes. The Libraries Operations Officer is also responsible for administering the maintenance of library buildings. They support managers in dealing with emergency repairs, report problems as required, and liaise with relevant staff on all aspects of cleaning, monitoring, and routine building maintenance.
You will work 36 hours per week, Your start and finishing times will vary between 8.00am-7pm with a maximum of two late finishes per week. You will be required to work every other Saturday 9am-5 pm with one day off in the week. You will also be required to work one Sunday every 8 weeks 12-4.

About the team
In this role, you’ll work closely with the operations management team, contributing to efficient library operations. You’ll report directly to the Head of Libraries.
