The Opportunity:
Our client is a sector leader in modernising waste management practice providing sustainable, compliance-led waste management solutions for Britain’s more difficult to handle wastes are looking for an Assistant Site Manager in Peterborough.
The Role:
Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for the effective, efficient and compliant management of their waste processing site in Peterborough.
Key Responsibilities:
To assist in the management of all aspects of the site operations in accordance with all Company policies and procedures ensuring compliance with:
Health & Safety management systems and all relevant environmental legislation; and quality management systems.
Help to ensure compliance with all permit and planning requirements for the site operations, help to implement improvements to deliver continuous improvement in the operations in line with agreed objectives.
Carry out regular safety and quality inspection audits to ensure compliance with all work method and risk assessments and work instructions.
Day to day responsibility for all site operational activities, ensuring operatives are supported and work to the procedures, risk assessments and high standards expected, in particular the disposal of specialist matter. Ensuring that plant and equipment is used and maintained appropriately and that servicing is carried out at the appropriate intervals.
About You:
must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a site or operations manager within a waste environment with experience of managing a small team or people as well as a good understanding of profit and cost control targets, although training will be provided.
A good working knowledge of environmental or waste management activities, operations and practice including operations, technical, legislative and commercial aspects.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years experience as a Landfill Site Manager
COTC 4MLH or equivalent
IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate
