Operations Manager

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for the delivery of exceptional operational and supply chain performance on your site and leading your site team into a culture of manufacturing excellence, as quality is at the heart of everything they do.
This role will champion managers and staff to engage and work together in achieving a common goal. You will be an advocate of their constant drive to improve and take ownership for driving such culture through the business whilst ensuring their reputation for customer service excellence is maintained.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

They are looking for a high calibre individual with previous experience of managing within a Craft/Automated food manufacturing environment and a strong belief in innovation.

Candidates wishing to apply must be able to:

• Work closely with other Senior Managers & Board members to ensure production operates effectively and efficiently daily.
• Execute the business strategy through your teams.
• Challenge practises and behaviours.
• Ensure that the quality of the products are in line with the quality standards.
• Exceed agreed KPI’s.
• Produce daily/weekly reports relating to KPI’s, highlighting problematic areas along with solutions.
• Engage managers and staff to create a culture of continuous improvement, high quality of products, safety and respect of all personnel.
• Achieve customer/audit requirements at high standards.
• Achieve key customer initiatives throughout the business, i.e. silver & gold validations.
• Monitor, control and reduce all wastes.
• With strong relationship management skills and technical ability, you will work closely with senior colleagues to implement significant change in order to maximise business success.

THE PERSON

*Management experience being conversant with the highest quality, hygiene and safety disciplines appropriate to a short shelf life food production environment.
*Motivated to building a genuine team ethos.
*Leadership, professionalism and gravitas.
*Experience of performance management processes.
*Excellent understanding of in house systems and procedures.
*Able to work to deadlines. Speed, accuracy and attention to detail. *Excellent understanding of production and planning.
*Excellent people and communication skills.

*Sense of urgency – make things happen/get results.
*Reliable.
*Problem solving skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HACCP Level 3 (advantageous)
• Food Safety Level 4 (advantageous)
• Allergen Awareness
• Lean/Continuous Improvement qualification (advantageous)
Desirable / Advantageous
• Knowledge of sales, marketing and branding would be advantageous to assist in commercial activities and NPD
• Knowledge of customer relations and buying/supplying functions would be advantageous to assist in purchasing strategies
