Operational Buyer

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

This is a terrific opportunity for an Operational Buyer / Purchaser to join one of UK’s leading specialists in the design, production, manufacture and supply of miniature fluid control solutions for the prestigious Scientific and Medical industry.

ROLE: OPERATIONAL BUYER

LOCATION: Based near Havant, Hampshire. You may be looking for Buying/ Procurement jobs in Waterlooville, Fareham, Portsmouth, Winchester, Haslemere, Southampton, Chichester, Hampshire, West Sussex or Surrey.

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per yearbasic salary, depending on experience plus benefits, career prospects, pension, ongoing training.

HOURS: 40 hrs per week, full time, permanent.

In your role as BUYER, you will be taking direction from the Purchasing Manager; working with all areas of the operation to contribute to Purchasing tasks.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as Buyer / Purchaser will be to:

* Obtain technical details and manage sample requests and RFQ.

* Analyse daily MRP reports and raise purchase orders within SAP.

* Liaise closely with the sales team to ensure orders meet the agreed MOQ’s.

* Maintain and update accreditation documents in line with Company QMS.

* Review set stock levels to ensure correct stock holding.

* Manage and build strong commercial relationships with supply partners.

* Support other areas of the business in purchasing miscellaneous products/services.

* Maintain and update part numbers on price, lead time & alternative MOQ/ MOV.

* Identify new opportunities for improvement and drive best cost options.

To be a confident Buyer, you must have at least 2 years purchasing experience with supplier liaison. You will be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, also MRP experience ideally with SAP / equivalent business management software.

As an Operational Buyer, you will have a positive and flexible attitude, self-motivated with excellent communication and time management skills, able to combine a strong technical bias with sound commercial acumen and the ambition to provide the best solutions to drive the business forward.
