Cover Teacher role specialising in Functional Skills Maths, Functional Skills English & Functional Skills ICT is offered on a flexible basis, working various hours across a variety of sites. You will be based in the Kent & Sussex region: HMYOI Cookham Wood. What the role entails

As a Cover Teacher you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality, learner-focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with Novus policies and procedures, supporting learners and colleagues alike to ensure the best outcome for all who work within our sector.

What we need from you

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Must have a teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and
  • Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year.
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and
  • Barring Service (DBS) check
