Salary: £26,000 per year

Our client is an established and expanding care home operator looking to recruit a Night Care Manager to join the team at their state-of-the-art, purpose built care home in Leeds.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the night shift at the home and will work with the team to ensure that the highest standards of personalised care is being provided to residents.

As the most senior person on shift you will ensure that the staff fulfil their duties and that an individual’s rights to privacy, independence and choice are met. You will also be required to supervise and evaluate the care delivered to residents, always ensuring that high standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

* To manage the night shift, ensuring that legislation is adhered to and high standards are maintained, in line with company and CQC standards.

* To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.

* To act as a key worker for a named group of residents, ensuring that these responsibilities are carried out in full.

* To ensure that all care teams and other staff maintain a safe environment throughout the home and understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.

* To participate in the formulation of individual care plans for each resident and administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both.

* To manage and administer medication to residents, ensuring that necessary paperwork and records remain up to date at all times.

* To always be alert to residents physical and mental well being, immediately dealing with and reporting any changes in a resident’s condition by liaising with other care professionals as required, and ensuring that all records are updated accurately.

* To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, this includes resident’s behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day to day care and to ensure that all care teams and other staff understand and respect this.

* To ensure that staff within the Home are understanding and patient towards residents and their needs and encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. Occasionally escorting residents to outside appointments and leisure outings.

You will become an active and encouraging member of the senior management team, responsible for running team meetings, ensuring good communication and leading the induction and training of newly appointed Care Assistants and Senior Care Assistants.

This position is based on a three on, three off 12 hour shift rota basis, usually 8pm – 8am. The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS, cost to be met by the employer.
