Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity as a Product Process Specialist joining our Purina Factory in Wisbech (Cambridgeshire) providing technical leadership as Product Platform team representative in the Factory. Ensuring adherence material and recipe management processes according to applicable standards to support new product development complaint with internal and external requirements.

A day in the life of a Factory Product and Process Specialist …

The Factory Product and Process Specialist will be responsible for providing knowledge on ingredients, recipes and corresponding management tools to support new product formulation and technical assistance, whilst leading the implementation of I&R projects, you’ll be an advocate for the product superiority in the factory.

Other key responsibilities of this role will include:
•    Support and guide the formulation of new products according to Material & Recipe Management processes.
•    Actively contribute to Continuous Improvement projects/initiatives to impact product performance in the factory.
•    As a Product and Process Expert, support factory production team and product platform team to solve product process performance related issues. Working on process issues and not equipment related issues – focus on trend issues and not day to day issues.
•    Provide site leadership for the development and implementation of new products in the factory. Ensure capability of the process is assessed and gaps addressed in (for example factory Masterplan). Based on gaps identified ensure standards/UOS are developed and applied.
•    Actively participate in the development of standards/UOS by providing product/ process expertise input. Attend/participate to UOS audit in factory and potentially in other factories to support the network.

What will make you successful?

To be successful in this role you will have passion for continuous improvement, great communication skills with the proven ability to build relationships and cross functional collaboration.

As well as;
•    Educated to a degree standard (or Equivalent) in food science or related discipline.
•    Previous experience in food or pet food manufacturing.
•    Previous experience of leading process improvements, Project Management, NCE, TPM and field experience is an asset
•    Has statistical knowledge & ability to analyse and summarize data and make recommendations.
•    Understands regulatory compliance & with awareness of relevant food regulations.
