Nautical Instructor / Bridge Navigator Trainer

The Job:

Our client is looking for enthusiastic high quality trainers to join their team based in Fareham. You will be responsible for planning and delivering training courses as directed by the Training Manager.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

* All preparations ahead of training, including collating resources, setting up equipment and preparing the learning environment
* Carrying out training needs analysis
* Supporting in the designing of course materials and resources, including hand-outs, manuals and exercises
* Marketing and organising courses to meet the needs of learners and demands of business
* Evaluating the effectiveness of training sessions and monitoring course outcomes
* Deal with administrative records and reporting on costs and activities

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a personable and versatile approach to training. It is essential that you have a background within either the Royal or Merchant Navy with the OOW certification or above. You will be required to continuously develop your knowledge of the nautical/ maritime sector, allowing you to support in a range of different training courses. Previous experience within a training or instructing role is not necessary as full support will be given.

This role is based in Fareham but may require occasional travel across the UK and/or internationally.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

* Minimum of a Chief Mates Ticket
* Comprehensive knowledge of ECDIS
* Excellent Communication Skills
* Good IT Skills
* Networking and expert IT skills not a requirement but would be advantageous
In return you will receive a starting salary of £36,000plus benefits.
