They now have an exciting opportunity for a Salon Instructor/Assessor to join them where you will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy salons and overseeing students whilst they undertake work experience as part of their programme of study.

As a Salon Instructor/Assessor you will undertake training sessions and workshops with students so that they are able to provide a full service in support of the salons. Assessing students in their salon duties as well as on Hair or Beauty therapy qualifications, you will train, manage and supervise students to ensure that the service provided in salons meets industry standard for technician skills and customer care. Devising schedules and rotas of work experience, you will develop student skills and knowledge to enable them to meet industry standards and improve their employability; this includes ensuring they take opportunities to develop their English, Maths and ICT skills.

They are looking for someone who has a Level 3 qualification in a relevant Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy subject, coupled with a relevant Assessor qualification. With experience of working, training and ideally assessing in the Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy commercial environment, you will have previously managed a team and ideally have worked within the Further Education sector.

With an understanding of the day to day operations needed to run Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy salons, you will have a knowledge of ordering, stock control, money handling, inventory and admin procedures as well as an excellent working knowledge of City & Guilds and VCTC awarding bodies. With exceptional communication skills, you will be highly organised and have the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work in a high pressured environment.
