The National Cup Recycling Scheme is the first of its kind in the UK. Established in 2018, the scheme has gone from strength to strength and has recycled over 163 million cups to date.

A vacancy currently exists for a National Cup Recycling Manager. This role is central to the management and proactive delivery of the scheme, on behalf of the brands. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the scheme and continually driving scheme progress and expansion, as well as coordinating the network of waste collectors and recyclers.

The role will require excellent communication in keeping stakeholders updated on progress, managing these stakeholder relationships and ensuring the scheme delivers on the KPI’s as set out in the agreed strategy. The role holder will be a spokesperson for the industry, comfortable with promoting and pitching the Scheme and its significant impact on retailers, the waste industry and evolving government legislation.

Candidate requirements:

• Previous experience in an environmental/sustainability/recycling focused role.
• Excellent communication skills, dealing confidently with people at all levels.
• Sound commercial awareness.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple relationships with consultants, NGO’s, waste contractors, local authorities, paper mills and retailers.
• Confidence to cold call and reach out to new customers.

This is a dual location role. Most of your time will be spent working from home, but you will be expected to occasionally work out of the office in the West Midlands.
