Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician

Salary: £27.6 – £32.4 per hour

A Maintenance Engineer, multi-skilled is sought by a global automotive manufacturing organisation serving customers in over 150 countries, based at their Burton-upon-Trent plant on three rotating shifts.

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for helping to ensure the effective, efficient operation of all plant facilities over a three shift rotation. Your duties will include:

• Responding urgently to breakdowns on the assembly equipment

• Maintenance of assembly equipment and the site as and when required

• Planning and performing Planned Preventative Maintenance activities

• Recording and analysing data from equipment failures

• Close liaison with the Manufacturing Engineer in introducing changes which affect facilities, safety or environment

• Liaising with, working with and co-coordinating the activities of outside contractors

• Assisting operations in improving uptime on equipment using problem solving techniques

• Working on bespoke assembly fixtures and conveyor systems, utilising knowledge with pneumatics, electrics and PLC systems (Siemens) as well as robotics and SCADA systems

The successful multi skilled Maintenance Engineer should have:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance environment

• Technical Diploma or recognised formal Apprenticeship training

• Desirable skills: Siemens PLC knowledge, 17th/18th Edition, MEWPs / Working at Height and forklift truck licence

• Ability to cooperate with people of different levels internally and externally and interact with team to achieve goals and objectives

• Ability to recognise and respond to (and increase) customer expectations with urgency

• Ability to take responsibility for decisions & results even if all aspects aren’t under own control

• Ability to identify & eliminate health, safety, ergonomic & environmental hazards
