QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* Recognised and appropriate Construction trade qualification(s) at Level 3 or above.
* GCSE Maths & English or equivalent.
* A teaching qualification.
* An Assessor and/or Internal Verifier Award.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
* Working knowledge and experience across a range of construction craft trades.
* Teaching experience relating to both the practical and theoretical aspects of the C&G 6218 Level 1 & 2 Diploma in Construction Skills and CAA and/or C&G NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations.
* Experience of developing learning initiatives, lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
* Knowledge of the requirements up to and including C&G 6218Level 1 & 2 Construction Skills and CAA or C&Gs Level 2 Maintenance Operations.
* Knowledge of the National Apprenticeship Framework.
* Ability to use and teach ICT skills.
* Sound understanding of Health and Safety practices.
* Sound understanding of good assessment practice.
* Ability to employ a range of teaching and learning strategies.
* Ability to integrate Functional Skills into the vocational area.
THE ROLE
The primary purpose of the Multi-skilled Construction Lecturer is to teach and participate in the co-ordination of the Construction & Engineering courses. Your areas of responsibility will include:-
Teaching and related activities
Managing the delivery of teaching and learning on a range of full and part time programmes on and off site. You will be responsible for the competent teaching and learning in a range of Construction trades and to share this expertise effectively with other staff. You will need to be involved in curriculum development as part of the team and as an individual andemploy a range of flexible teaching, learning strategies and learning resources, appropriate to differing abilities and needs.
Pastoral Care
Ensuring the general wellbeing of the learners, you will be required to take a shared responsibility for the supervision of learners at the start and end of the day as well as during break time. You will also act as Personal Tutor and implement the Centre’s Pastoral system.
General Duties
* Participating in Open Evenings, Parent/Student Consultation Evenings and other Centre events.
* Supporting and implementing the College’s Equality & Diversity Policy
* Maintaining the highest professional standards in accordance with the policies of the College.
* Assisting with promotion, supervision, management and administration of Centre activities.
* Carrying out other duties as may reasonably be required at the Centre or requested by the Curriculum Manager or Head of Department.

You must work in a methodical and organised manner, able to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
