A unique opportunity has arisen for a Merchandiser on Ladies Young Fashion. Based in North West, Excellent salary, up to £42,000 + bonus + bens
High calibre senior merchandising professional required to join this well-known business as a Merchandiser on Ladies Young Fashion.
As a Merchandiser you will be responsible for day-to-day stock and supply chain performance. You will report functionally to the Merchandise Manager to ensure they have full and timely visibility of stores stock position, and operationally to the Buyer and Trading Manager in relation to all day-to-day stock management issues. Managing the critical path for product supply, from order to delivery, you will monitor supplier performance, identifying and reporting ‘at risk’ situations.
The main responsibilities for the role include:-
– Responsibility for all stock in the business unit excluding last and previous.
– Responsibility for all initial estimates for the business unit across all channels.
– Managing the Assistant Merchandiser/Allocator in order to achieve the department merchandise plan. This will involve the Range Plan, In Season Trading, Line Card & WSSI KPI’s and directing any actions to ensure the plan is maintained.
– Conducting regular team reviews to ensure deadlines and targets are met.
– Responsibility for agreeing a budget in collaboration with Buyers and delivering the trading plan for the season to ensure optimum stock availability for all channels.
– Responsibility for the development and control of the critical path ensuring that the Buying & Merchandising team are working together to deliver key milestones.
– Providing statistics and history to support the Buyers to plan and build ranges.
– Developing key supplier relationships through regular communication and visits ensuring that a balanced, commercial relationship is maintained. Ensure that capacity, fabric & component management is planned both locally and cross divisionally.
To be successful in the Merchandiser role you will ideally need experience in multi-channel inventory planning and management and a working knowledge of ranking methodology (preferably Pareto).
Experience is required of managing the critical path and developing supplier relationships and monitoring performance. The successful Merchandiser candidate must have an aptitude for numbers and have experience with MS Excel. Knowledge of working with Merchandise Planning and Management systems would also be advantageous. The candidate must be able to demonstrate that they are good at decision making, problem solving and communicating.
