Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £38,400 per year

We’re currently recruiting for a multi-skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a global leader in their sector. Their facility is located in Hixon, Staffordshire. This role is full time permanent.

Times of work: Monday to Thursday – 7:30am to 5pm. (Every Friday + weekend off!)

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter role:

* Carry out mechanical maintenance of factory machinery (e.g. conveyors, valves, pipework, pumps)

* MIG & stick welding when required

* Reading and working from engineering drawings

* Fabrication works (cutting to measurements, grinding, polishing etc)

* Use of a range of hand and air tools

* Complying with health & safety procedures

Mechanical Fitter person specification:

* Experience within a maintenance position in a production / factory facility is desirable

* Must have the ability to MIG weld

* It is essential that the mechanical fitter is comfortable with using general hand and air tools

* Must be able to read engineering drawings

Benefits that come with this Mechanical Fitter position:

* Holiday entitlement 20 days + 9 bank holidays (pro rata over 4 day week, equates to 23.5 days per annum). Increases by 1 day per year after 5 years’ service up to a maximum of 5 days.
