Salary: £33,600 – £37,200 per year
My client is an international supplier to the power generation industry, and they have an excellent opportunity for a MECHANICAL ENGINEER/ PROJECT ENGINEER to join their team based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.
They are looking for a motivated, flexible, experienced Mechanical Engineer with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Air Pollution Control, Dust & Fume Extraction or LEV equipment.
Core experience and responsibilities include the thorough examination, testing and repair of local exhaust ventilation systems and Bag Filter technologies.
This is a permanent staff appointment; the successful candidate will join a highly motivated professional Site Service team representing the company on customer sites across the UK and overseas if required.
Reporting to the team’s base in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire on a daily basis when not delivering site services.
This is primarily a working away from home role that will include midweek and weekend overtime and call outs when required, Bank holiday working including over the Christmas period will be part of the role.
A service van will be provided as and when required to carry out your duties.
THE ROLE:
• Survey, service and maintain existing reference sites and assist to win new orders.
• Have the ability to recognise opportunities for spares, service and upgrades.
• Offer all areas of support required and build on these existing relationships in order to grow the business.
• Develop Market Database, gather and log information on Customers, Sites, Contact Persons, Activity, Sales and Prospects.
• To review and interpret customer specifications and drawings, assisting with detailed site-surveys where required.
• Carrying out investigations, ensuring that appropriate reporting and remedial action is taken
• Work closely with other members of the APC team, utilising their existing contacts in order to develop new opportunities and build relationships.
• To perform equipment inspections and produce detailed reports, you must be prepared to lead a team for larger works as and when required.
• Carrying out the review of Method Statement prior to commencing site works to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and Company requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Time served Mechanical Apprenticeship with site experience of industrial filter systems.
• P601 Examination and Testing of LEV systems & P602 Service Qualification an advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity and understanding of Electrostatic Precipitators.
• Fabrication and welding skills.
• An understanding of compressed air and electrical control circuits.
• Professional approach with excellent communication skills both verbal & written.
• Full clean driving Licence.
• IT Literate; – Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
PACKAGE DETAILS:
Salary is negotiable, midweek and weekend overtime rates apply, depending on experience.
The Company also operates an annual performance orientated Bonus Scheme.
25 days annual paid leave in addition to statutory holidays.
Standard 37 hour working week although a flexible attitude to working hours will be necessary.
Money purchase Pension Scheme is available after 3 months of employment.
