Our client, one of the UK’s major consultancies within the water sector has opened a job vacancy for a skilled mechanical design engineer with water / wastewater sector experience based in Newport. This vacancy is available due to successful growth and long-term demand within the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer with a strong background in water/ wastewater to join their team and take part in Project across the whole DCWW region as well as in the UK and overseas.

Suitable candidates will have:
-Water / Wastewater industry experience
-Relevant degree (Chartership or aiming to be chartered)
-Experience in preparing feasibility, outline and detailed designs within water & wastewater treatment projects – with a strong technical focus
-Experienced in project control
-Commercial awareness
-A proactive approach and the ability to adapt to changing scenarios
-Proven track record of client liaison and communication skills

Deliverables:
-Work within an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals
-Preparation of outline & detailed programs; costs, mechanical engineering designs, drawings, P&IDs & schedules.
-Managing the production of documents such as calculations, specifications, plant schedules, tenders, schedule of prices, engineering estimates as well as factory and site acceptance documents.
-Working closely with the client and contractor partners.
-Supervision of junior engineers and provision of technical guidance where appropriate.
