Job Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (Autodesk Inventor)

Job Status: Contract, 3 months initially with possible extra 3 months

Job Description:

HPIS’s sales represent a third of the company total turnover and covers market segments ranging from Aerospace & Defence (35%) to Industrial cameras and sensors (30%), Science (20%) to Medical (15%).
Due to unprecedented workload, we require a mechanical design engineer to support the development the JPAS camera system.

Main Accountabilities:

Design and drawing of mechanical components
Liaison with subcontractors

Ideal Experience:

The role of this position is to assist in the mechanical design and production of component and assembly drawings that are to BS and e2v drawing standards, applying appropriate geometrical tolerances and material specifications as necessary. This person may also be required to liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure that the designed parts are manufacturable.
To succeed in this role you must have:
Degree / H.N.C. or equivalent qualified in a mechanical design discipline, or significant experience of professional engineering work.
Proficient use of Autodesk Inventor to produce designs/ drawings to fit within an existing departmental drawing architecture.
Application of mechanical design/drafting skills and knowledge.
Highly competent in technical draughfting and geometrical tolerancing.
Knowledge in applying relevant BS8888 standards.
Familiarity with large complex vacuum systems.
Knowledge of materials, finishes and processing.
Proficient use of Pro/ Engineer.
Proficient use of AutoCAD.
SC clearance level.
Knowledge of Engineering Change Request process.
Familiarity with SAP PDM system.

Salary/Rate: £30per hour (negotiable)
