Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. We are now looking for them a Mechanical Design Engineer. 

Salary DOE £42,000 – £48,000

Monday to Friday (40 hrs pw) 8am-5pm

28 days holiday inc. stat rising to 33 including stat after completion of 1 holiday year

3 month probationary period following

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will be varied covering continuous development of existing mechanical, automated machinery, new designs for jigs, fixtures and tooling covering Metal pressing, Injection moulding and PVC extrusion die design.

The candidate will have the ability to work on conceptual designs through analysis, prototype, testing, to production of the final design.

My clients work in a 3D environment using the latest software package to generate part, assembly, and detailed manufacturing drawings.

They also perform various analysis tasks such as FEA and MoldFlow.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years CAD experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office package.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Essential Skills:

A degree in Engineering with mechanical design, jig, fixture, tooling experience.

Education may be substituted with additional relevant experience.

Knowledge of drafting standards, GDT.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Desired Skills:

Extrusion Die design.

Candidates will be team orientated and able to demonstrate their desire the drive the team and the products forward. A keen appetite to learn new skills and develop as an individual along with the business. You will have the ability to deliver tangible results to the business and not be afraid to ‘get your hands dirty’.
