Salary: £16.8 – £19.2 per hour

Mechanical, Electrical and Trim Technician

Role Purpose

To remove and refit parts to facilitate the body repairs to a high standard, and to contribute to the production process

Key Tasks

* To dismantle and rebuild vehicles as instructed by the Job Card

* To report unseen damage omitted from the Estimate as soon as it is identified

* Identify any previous repairs on the vehicle and make a note of them on the job card informing the workshop controller of any challenges they may represent on the job

* To assess tool and equipment requirements and to report damaged or faulty equipment immediately

* To make written and verbal reports on service and repair activity to the Workshop Controller in order to obtain authorisation. Make sure you add any supplementaries at the stage of stripping (not refit) this helps you to achieve bonus and through flow of the vehicle quickly and smoothly, stopping delays at refit

* Once the car has been stripped no parts are to be left in the car, all parts to be placed on the racking provided

* Any parts left in the vehicle must be bagged up and covers placed in the boot ensuring no damage to the vehicle

* After stripping you must check you have followed the job card, any apertures must be covered prior to removing from the bay and the QC sheet must be signed for the PAS 125 purpose and job completed on advance and supplementary to be taken to estimators for signature and to parts for additional parts ordering.Ensure all protection covers and aperture covers are in place.

* All job cards need to be left in the vehicle and not in tool boxes

* To complete all administrative procedures (including warranty) relating to service and repair work

* To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment

* To undertake vehicle road tests when necessary

* To attend meetings and training programmes as required

* To assist with development and training of other Technicians

* To carry out other duties as required to assist and support assist other team members

Expectations

* To achieve agreed efficiency and productivity objectives

* To work with care and consideration towards other members of staff

* To work with care and consideration towards company property and customers vehicles

* To complete reports and documentation clearly and accurately

* To complete service and repair work right first time in accordance with manufacturer and company procedures

* To accurately follow BSI and manufacturer procedures

* To report any damage, serious problems or concerns without delay

* To maintain a high standard of personal presentation at all times

* To promote good departmental and inter departmental team spirit

* To comply with Health and Safety requirements

* To represent Veetec in a professional manner at all times

Refit Stage

* All parts on the job card must be fitted, if not required then the estimator confirms they are not required and signs this off, the unrequired parts are returned to Parts department and a they process accordingly.

* Check everything is working, and all panel protection is fitted and if requirement torque wrenche information must be written on the on the job card

* All stages of the job card to be checked and completed in line with work done and signed off or N/A entered
