Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm

As a leading provider in the transport industry, our client operates a specialised fleet of minibuses and custom-made healthcare transportation, ensuring safe and efficient travel for passengers. Committed to maintaining the highest standards, we are seeking an experienced Mechanic to contribute to the reliability and safety of the fleet.

As a Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the maintenance and reliability of a specialised fleet. You’ll be responsible for executing maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and rectifying defects to ensure our vehicles meet the stringent standards set by the DVSA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MOT inspections and meticulously prepare vehicles to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular service and inspections of the fleet, ensuring adherence to scheduled maintenance programs.
  • Diagnose vehicle faults and rectify defects in minibuses and ambulances promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare the fleet for daily duties, always guaranteeing operational readiness.
  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing vehicle reliability and safety.
  • Offer expertise in vehicle fault diagnosis and attend breakdowns when necessary, ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager to develop strategies for optimising fleet maintenance procedures.
  • Perform pre-planned servicing to maintain fleet vehicle reliability and safety.
  • Address unexpected faults promptly through reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools for identifying and rectifying vehicle faults efficiently.
  • Handle engine and gearbox removal, repairs, replacements, and overhauls adhering to safety protocols.
  • Manage running defects and conduct routine inspections to proactively identify issues.
  • Perform routine servicing and general maintenance to upkeep operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficiency in PSV maintenance procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to adapt and perform well under pressure in challenging circumstances.
